I am Jeni Howell Anderson originally from Northern California. I competed at a high level early on at Nevada Union High School and ran my own club program in high school "Nevada County VBC". I went to college on a volleyball scholarship and played outside hitter at California State University, East Bay where we ranked top 10 in the nation each year and finished as high as high as 5th in the NCAA National Tournament. I continue to play beach doubles (women's and co-ed) in the Open & AA levels and I am a member of Inland Northwest VBC's adult club team. I have 13 years of youth coaching experience (ages 10-18) and co-founded/directed Fury Volleyball Club with my husband in Missoula, MT in 2007. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor specializing in severe emotional disturbances in children and adolescents, but am currently enjoying a lengthy maternity leave to be with my 1 year old daughter Elli. My husband and I have been working our way west from Montana looking for the perfect place where we can settle, raise our family, and continue to play volleyball at a high level. We are excited to explore the Portland area and I am excited to continue to spread my passion for the sport of Volleyball! I believe that a coach must model the intensity, positivity, respect & tenacity they wish to see from their athletes while teaching the fundamental skills needed to thrive in the sport of volleyball. My favorite thing about coaching is seeing excitement on a young athlete's face when the light bulb goes on and these elements of the sport start to come together for them!
