Joel Slenning has been playing and coaching volleyball for 26 years.  During his senior year in high school, Joel was fortunate to play at the Jr. National level as a Setter for Canada.  Joel's college years were spent playing on multiple club teams, and down in Arizona at Arizona State University where he was the starting setter.  After college,  came coaching at the college level for Cascade College, then back to club volleyball where he has found many years of success, including two years with WVVC's 16's team coach Tyler Cuddeford. Joel and Tyler's philosophy and coaching styles merged well to result in one of the highest performance and ranking of any team in WVVC history.

Passion for coaching, learning and serving the community drive Joel's coaching style, he expects the best out of his players and loves every minte of watching players grow and prosper.  

On the home front, Joel is happily married with two wonderful children, one daughter with fantastic volleyball talent and a National Honor Society member, one son, that just learned how to throw his food off his high chair.
